10 Whole Health Tips

  1. Buy local produce and whole foods - they are a cleaner fuel for your body and use less natural resources to ship and store.
  2. Do not let the water run If every household in the US replaced 1 roll of 1000 sheet bathroom tissues with 100% recyclable rolls, we could save 373,000 trees, 1.48 million cubic feet of landfill space, and 155 million gallons.
  3. Greening Your Roof- people are making their homes and cities greener is by planting grass, plants, or whole gardens on their roofs!
  4. Once you start living green, help your friends and neighbors go green too! Show them simple ways to conserve natural resources and make sustainable choices every day.
  5. You can start by replacing one light bulb with a compact fluorescent light bulb… It lasts 10 times longer and saves 66% more energy!
  6. Use Green Materials- There are all kinds of amazing natural and recycled materials that you can use for the floors, walls, counters, and ceilings.
  7. Avoid packaged items and recycle any packaging you use Recycled materials, such as rubber, aluminum and glass, can be used to make everything from countertops to Driveways
  8. Scrape – don't rinse! When using a dishwasher, pre-rinsing is no longer necessary with today's technology and detergents. You may be using more water to pre-rinse than the dishwasher uses for a full wash cycle.
  9. Don't flush it away! Water-efficient faucets and low-flow toilets really save water. If every toilet in the U.S. were a low-flow model, we'd save almost 2 TRILLION gallons of water a year.
  10. Use native plants in your garden. Plants that grow naturally in your area won't need a lot of chemicals or extra water. They'll also attract wildlife to your yard.
