Locals to be Honored Green Living Awards in Marathon
Winners in the 3rd Annual Green Living Awards will be announced at GLEE’s Annual Meeting & Awards Ceremony, which takes place from 4-7 p.m. Saturday, March 13 at the Marathon Garden Club, 5270 Overseas Highway. The event is free to members, $10 for non-members.
Green Living & Energy Education (GLEE) continues to promote sustainable living by sponsoring the awards recognition program and “exposing” trailblazers on the green path. This year’s nominees numbered 57, and include individuals, businesses, non-profits, agencies and municipalities.
Information on each nominee has been posted to the KeysGLEE.com website where they canbe viewed, however the deadline for online voting has passed.
GLEE’s board of directors also conducts a blind vote based on merit for each Green Living Award category. Both award classifications will be presented at the awards ceremony.
Guest speaker for the night is Chris Desmond, Founder of Sea Excursion's 10,000 Islands Dolphin Project of Marco Island. He also serves on the advisory board of the International Ecotourism Society and will be featured in National Geographic Traveler Magazine in September.
A reception will follow the presentation and award ceremony.
Thank you to our sponsors Marathon Garden Club, Cristiano’s Catering, Deer Run Bed & Breakfast, Food for Thought and Publix.
