Saving the Environment by Kymberly Moore - Grade 4

My family and I are helping recycle around where we live, which is in Florida City. When my mom and I went to eat at a seafood restaurant, a lot of people did not recycle, but the restaurant did have a recycle bin. When my mom and I were finished eating, the man that worked there had printed something he did not need, so he put it in the recycle box. That is when my mom and I were leaving. It made me think that he was helping save the environment.

When I got home, my dad was in the kitchen cooking chicken, rice and corn bread. My dad had a corn bread mix box. He was about to throw it in the trash can and I said:
"Put it in the recycle bin! Don`t you want to help the environment?"
My dad said, "Yes, I do want to help."
Then my dad put it in the recycle bin.

Yesterday, when my mom was going to work she saw the trees where the birds live and my mom was happy that we were helping save the environment.

A Road to Success by Parris Everhart - Grade 6

Do you ever leave the water running when you're brushing your teeth, or leave the lights on? I remember when I didn't care about the environment. I would throw trash on the streets, leave lights on and even leave the water running. Then I learned about an eco-website in my school library. Now, because I have read and studied www.gogreenwithall.com, I will become a better person by protecting the environment.

On the website, I found out that many kids everywhere are turning their community green. The website also had many fun games that kicked the "Save the Environment", message up a notch. After playing those games, I decided it was time for a change.

Now, I try not to leave the water running, I do not leave the lights on, and my family is even looking into a hybrid car! I think if we turn my school, The Academy at Ocean Reef, green it will encourage the community to turn their lives somewhat green too! We could do this by using solar panels for the lights and by recycling more.

Finally, because I have learned about pollution and global warming, I am working to save the environment. I think we should treat the environment as well as we treat our own bodies. If we don't, there will be no world for us to grow up in, or for our children either. Please choose the right thing and help your community turn green!

Go Green by Emily Caulk - Grade 7

I love nature and making the world a better place. Carbon emissions are polluting the earth and making global warming occur. I decided to help stop global warming because otherwise we may not have our healthy, green earth in the future.

These are the things I have done to help stop global warming. I bought solar powered lights for my front and back yard to stop wasting electricity. I also helped my mom with our garden at home, to make a new habitat for insects and birds. My garden makes clean fresh air because the plants convert carbon into oxygen.

In addition, my school and I are trying to make a better environment by planting a garden. The things I am going to be doing in the future are: planting more flowers so the earth can be a little bit greener; recycling to help our earth; and saving energy by walking or riding my bike.

My essay is about the environment, what I can do to help and why I want to try to stop global warming. The earth needs to be treated better and I can help!
