Biodiesel Summit

August 7th, 2008

Goal: 80% Reduction of Emissions by 2050

GLEE’s Main Points:

  • Biodiesel can be introduced into diesel vehicles, vessels and generators now to yield significant reductions in carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons, nitrogen oxide, particulate matter.
  • Biodiesel reduces our reliance on foreign oil and reduces health risks associated with petroleum diesel.
  • Commercial grade biodiesel is available for delivery to the Keys right now at competitive prices.
  • Efforts to manufacture biodiesel from local waste vegetable oil re-use resources we already have instead of trucking them back to the mainland.
